Waking The Dead [2009]

CD

The Busters - Weckdienst für Totgeglaubte

dreamin time is over
say goodbye to innocence
summer nights spent making plans
it’s time to climb the fence
sweating, fearing, hoping, wishing
now it’s time for facts
the wet dream is over now
and here’s the time for sex
we can make the big man stumble
we can make the proud man humble
don’t you give us no more shit

we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it

theory has found its end
it’s time to save the world
kick the bastard in the ass
and finally get the girl
now it’s time for rock’n’roll
and i feel every nerve
death star can’’t help going down
because we’ve got the verve

we can make the big man stumble
we can make the proud man humble
don’t you give us no more shit

we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it

we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it
we do it – we do it – we do it – we do it

let’s go to the graveyard, that’s the place to be
everybody there is sleeping nice and peacefully
on the tombstones you can read, who’s burried down below
hope is the most common name, you’ll never find sorrow

energy got strangled and each one of her kids
love was shot six times in her heart
vision was playing tricks
vision died in prison, because she lost her mind
she thought the walls were made of air
with a fairground behind

i feel like waking the dead
dating my head
not fainting in bed

taking the lead
right out of my back
and painting it red

i feel like waking the dead
dating my head
not fainting in bed

i taking the lead
right out of my back
and painting it red

brightness first got blinded, but then she saw the light
she realized that any brightness can only be found inside fun was quite resistant, but skinny in the end
they let her starve eating potatoe-chips
and listening to bad bands

i feel like waking the dead
dating my head
not fainting in bed (waking the dead)

taking the lead
right out of my back
and painting it red

i feel like waking the dead
dating my head
not fainting in bed (waking the dead)

i taking the lead
right out of my back
and painting it red

i feel like waking the dead
dating my head
not fainting in bed (waking the dead)

i taking the lead
right out of my back
and painting it red

i feel like waking the dead
dating my head
not fainting in bed (waking the dead)

taking the lead
right out of my back
and painting it red

i feel like waking the dead
waking the dead
waking the dead (waking the dead)

i feel like waking the dead
waking the dead
waking the dead (waking the dead)

i feel like waking the dead
waking the dead
waking the dead (waking the dead)

i feel like waking the dead
waking the dead
waking the dead (waking the dead)

there’s lava in my socks
smoking, melting lava rocks
there’s boiling water in my head
my temperature-alert is red

i am a smoking gun and i won’t stop
’til all the smoking’s done
i am a hot balloon full of steam
i wanna burn someone

there’s lava in my socks
smoking, melting lava rocks
there’s boiling water in my head
my temperature-alert is red

i’m your lavaman
i’m your lavaman
i’m your lavaman
i’m your lavaman

there’s lava in my socks
smoking, melting lava rocks
there’s boiling water in my head
my temperature-alert is red

i’m dancing on the sun just one small thought
that much too soon will be gone
when i see all the buttons on your shirt
i wanna open one

i’m your lavaman
i’m your lavaman
i’m your lavaman
i’m your lavaman

there’s lava in my socks
smoking, melting lava rocks
there’s boiling water in my head
my temperature-alert is red

there’s lava in my socks

some say troy wasn’t as hard to get
as i was - and i was
take the highest tower, double it
and you come close
to how i was - how i was
keep on going, and it’s tough to get
side by side, we go ahead

here comes my love revolution
and i can’t resist
a new dawning, new solutions
and i take the risk

now i feel like Bonnie and Clyde
but not as pierced in the end
there’s still so much untried
but i’m not tired of trying
if it’s done with your hands

keep on going, and it’s tough to get
side by side, we go ahead

here comes my love revolution
and i can’t resist
a new dawning, new solutions
and i take the risk

here comes my love revolution
and i can’t resist
a new dawning, new solutions
and i take the risk

over and over again...

life is a rodeo and you’re the horse
feel the pleasure of submission
my heels will show you a better way
believe me baby, i’ve got a vision
freedom means that you don’t want more
than you know you can really get
taste the whip and you can be sure
it’s so easy to tell good from bad
in the jungle of thoughts that unease your mind
i’m the lumberjack, the knight of clearness
you poor little mouse in your labyrinth
just say cheese and you’ll be fearless
you can join many others and be together
like ironed shirts in my wardrobe
we can walk side by side and be so close
cause i’ve got you on my tight rope

if you like everything you should
and if you say everything is good
if you do what you’re told and say i’m best
we’re on the way to peace, love and the rest

when we march together like lovers
when we’re so many we don’t need any others
when our boots walked over the last man standing
we’re on the way to peace, love and understanding

sweets for my sweet, sugar for my money
and all narcotics that you need
tv all day and coloured ballrooms
gospel songs and emotions for free
take off your shoes cause i wear the boots
that will stomp in the right direction
and you will join my army for convertibles
ring tones, gossips and a little fashion

if you like everything you should
and if you say everything is good
if you do what you’re told and say i’m best
we’re on the way to peace, love and the rest

when we march together like lovers
when we’re so many we don’t need any others
when our boots walked over the last man standing
we’re on the way to peace, love and understanding

lalala lalalala lala...

when we march together like lovers
when we’re so many we don’t need any others
when our boots walked over the last man standing
we’re on the way to peace, love and understanding

forget your wishes, forget your dreams
it’s crazy to wear designer-jeans
we all want grapefruit-juice in our beer
the age of aquarius is right here

let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!
let us all get individuals!

a light for your cigar, no problem sir!
drop the ashes in my hands, and i say thanks
i don’t even need peanuts
i just bend down and smile
only late at night, i wonder why
i don’t exist while my life passes by
kick me in my ass, kick me in my balls
i’ll be ready when the revolution calls

allons enfants, on résiste!
allons enfants, on resiste!
allons enfants, on resiste!
allons enfants, on resiste!

you need a shoeshine mister? i do it with my tongue
and if you want some music, meanwhile i sing a happy song
when you’ve got a cold, blow your nose in my hand
i’ll do any kind of blow-job

only late at night, i wonder why
i don’t exist while my life passes by
kick me in my ass, kick me in my balls
i’ll be ready when the revolution calls

allons enfants, on resiste!
allons enfants, on resiste!
allons enfants, on resiste!
allons enfants, on resiste!

les cœurs unis on va marcher
c’est notre droit de resister
les cœurs unis on va marcher
c’est notre droit de resister
les cœurs unis on va marcher
c’est notre droit de resister
les cœurs unis on va marcher
c’est notre droit de resister
les cœurs unis on va marcher
c’est notre droit de resister

you’ve got steel in your arms
lead in your ass
and tropical wood in your brain
you send your thoughts on a journey
with a one-way ticket
"no use" is your second name
being pitiful for yourself
it’s not good for your health
you self-pitiful pitibull
do the mashed potatoe
don’t be the mashed potatoe
break the rule to be the rule

take your helmet off
so the sun can shine much brighter
even wearing shades on soul and ska allnighter

why don’t we laugh instead of talking
why don’t we dance instead of walking
it’s not written down
that we sing our songs in minor keys

live it up don’t break it down
there’s a rumor going ’round
as long as you move
no one will chain you finally

different positions are a thrill
so at night do what you will
but don’t lay on your back all your life
you paid for this ball, and you’ve got balls
so let them have a ball with their wives

take your helmet off
so the sun can shine much brighter
even wearing shades on soul and ska allnighter

why don’t we laugh instead of talking
why don’t we dance instead of walking
it’s not written down
that we sing our songs in minor keys

live it up don’t break it down
there’s a rumor going ’round
as long as you move
no one will chain you finally

why don’t we laugh instead of talking
why don’t we dance instead of walking

the golden age could start cos i am ready
i do my sports and i am going steady
i separate my waste cos i am German
i love my taxes to me they’re not a burden
i ride my bike each day and every night
i’ve got no belly and i’ve got no light
i’m driving fast and with my eagle eyes
i see my neighbour when i crash into his face
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the end of the world with fire and blood

it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the end of the world with fire and blood

my little daughter is learning cantonese
she is so bright she’s got no desease
her name’s luisa, margaret, daphne, shiva
o.k...sometimes this name makes me shiver
she knows what’s right exactly like her daddy
and she’s got plans about the perfect wedding
she’s four years now and i made her strong
one day someone will suffer when he takes her home

it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the end of the world with fire and blood

it’s the beast in everyone of us
it’s the beast in everyone of us

no matter how you suffer
if it’s one arm on the other
if your head aches so bad
that you can’t wear a hat
if your teeth make you shiver
from your ears to your feet
and if you feel the weather changing
in your elbows and your knees
there’s one lady i trust
her private hospital is a must
you may be a wreck
but when you come back
all you say is thank you...

lady painkiller
she keeps you warm, when it’s cold outside
and there’s no place to hide

lady painkiller
she cools you down, when you’re too hot
no she don’t ever stop

lady painkiller
she’s got healing hands, and the rest heals too
when you’re lonely and blue

lady painkiller
very soft and a little devote
and all your sorrows go up in smoke

when your shoes are too tight
or your mouth is too dry
when your hips are too stiff
or your hands have no grip
and when your third leg is neglected
and oh your heart feels so rejected
when above your toes
only your belly grows

there’s one lady i trust
her private hospital is a must
you may be a wreck
but when you come back
all you say is thank you...

a cold wind’s blowing since you said good-bye
it’s dark and grey, no more blue skies
swedish winterdays waiting for the next sunrise
i walk the streets and there’s rubbish on the ground
among the junk beneath my feet
there are yesterday’s love-songs
waiting for a new beat
love’s a drink that’s bitter-sweet
it gives you all the thrills that you need in the night
but when the morning comes
party is over and nothing is right

so close - so far
that’s what you were and what you are
familiar, strange, nothing left to rearrange

so close - so far
that’s what you were and what you are
familiar, strange, nothing left to rearrange

i wake up and i don’t know who i am
there’s a stranger in my shoes
i’m a letterbox waiting for some good news
i ask every person i see "why?"
but the mirror won’t answer
i’m complete like a ballet without a dancer

blinded by the morning light
that’s what i was with you by my side
now my eyes can see again
the desert is empty except for one man

so close - so far
that’s what you were and what you are
familiar, strange, nothing left to rearrange

so close - so far
that’s what you were and what you are
familiar, strange - and nothing left to rearrange

everybody’s tired and wasted
unsatisfied and pale like death
no one looks like all the models
of h&m the mood is bad
sometimes you can hear some laughter
but when you look a bit too close
you see all these happy people
have a white line underneath their nose

all this wouldn’t be so bad
if it wasn’t raining all the time
six weeks a month of pms
the undertaker’s doin’ fine

everybody’s waiting for the sun
everybody’s waiting for the sun
rain and taxes and no prozac
tell me, where’s the fun

space is tight under the bridges
booze is cheap and soon you’ll find
nothing bad to see in your life
but you’re not happy, you’re just blind

and the very happy few
who still got a job to do
work a hundred hours a week
until they get fired, too

depression is that one disease
we all have, and aching knees
but thanks to tv we can handle
our suicidal tendencies

everybody’s waiting for the sun
everybody’s waiting for the sun
rain and taxes and no prozac
tell me, where’s the fun

everybody’s waiting for the sun
everybody’s waiting for the sun
rain and taxes and no prozac
tell me, where’s the fun

when your car is old and dirty
the police think that you smoke pot
when it’s nice and clean just hide it
to make sure you won’t get robbed

everybody’s waiting for the sun
everybody’s waiting for the sun
rain and taxes and no prozac
tell me, where’s the fun

everybody’s waiting for the sun
everybody’s waiting for the sun
all the millionaires are cryin’
money is on the run

everybody’s waiting for the sun

when i wake up i start singing
and i don’t stop ’til late at night
name the game and i’ll be winning
when i bet i’m always right
i’m the first in every queue
and it never rains on me
and no matter what i do
it works out nice and easily
friday night when i go out
i never queue up at the door
i’m on the list no need to shout (no need)
no need to pay, i’m in for sure

black cats, broken mirrors are nightmares for zeros
please give me room 13, on a friday night to sleep in
watch me while i’m winning, but don’t try this at home
my private pleasure is your danger-zone

call me mr. lucky
call me mr. lucky
call me mr. lucky
call me mr. lucky

nasty weather, unpaid bills
broken cars or broken hearts
too much trouble, the absence of skills
and the desperate need to fart
i don’t know one single point
on this never ending list
so let the whole world lose its mind
i’m happy just the way it is

black cats, broken mirrors are nightmares for zeros
please give me room 13, on a friday night to sleep in
watch me while i’m winning, but don’t try this at home
my private pleasure is your danger-zone

call me mr. lucky
call me mr. lucky

call me mr. lucky

call me mr. lucky

what’s the capital of paris
what’s more, a meter or a pound
can a model save the world
from getting ugly, fat and round
the man on the street is clever enough
not to show what he knows, cause our system is rough

stupidocracy all over the world
stupidocracy all over the world

stupidocracy all over the world
stupidocracy all over the world

one day we all be chinese
cause we’re about to die out
we’ll all be looking different
last night someone changed my eyes were changed out

a smart line or two, could really pimp up the song
but the manager said, the crowd is never wrong

stupidocracy all over the world
stupidocracy all over the world

it’s such a brand new world
santa brought it with his deers
you can change it for anyone
within the first 6000 years
